Talk about a wedding that was packed full of love and laughter. This wedding had a fantastic wedding party, support system and of course, bride and groom. I worked with Jie and David for their engagement session and was thrilled to hear that they would be having their wedding at a location very similar, Samsara Gardens. This venue featured Asian touches such as the Koi Gardens and absolutely stunning sculptures. In fact, the venue was so beautiful that there was hardly any need for decorations. All the bride and groom added to complete the decor was bistro lights in the courtyard. Those lights created such a romantic atmosphere for their dinner reception and really completed the “vintage shipwreck in paradise” feel they were going for.

One of my favorite details from this shoot was the bride’s bouquet. She told me that her bouquet was her one “splurge” purchase. They were drool worthy! Jie ensured all her decisions were meaningful and deliberate. The bride and groom added personalized touches and their guests loved connecting the dots. Their color scheme paid very subtle homage to their alma mater, the University of Florida, and while their fur-baby, Kirby, couldn’t attend the wedding, they printed his sweet face on compostable straws for their guests! It was awesome!

Another aspect of this wedding that was on point was the bride and groom’s fashion. They wanted their wedding looks to be very classic. The bride went with a A-line silhouette gown that had a flowing, simple skirt and the veil she selected was a simple single-layer sheer tulle, cathedral veil. As for the groom, who is usually very casual in his day-to-day life, he took his look to the next level. David wore a classic black, well-tailored tuxedo with gold cuff links (for good luck in Chinese culture) and polished black shoes. Jie also decided to incorporate floral crowns to accent her amazing bouquet and I am so glad they did! Everything looked amazing.

Overall, this was a wedding that stood out on so many levels for me. It was romantic, fun and extremely personalized. It was the combination of all the best things you want on your wedding day.
