What happens when you mix a sweet girl, gold sequin dress, birthday cake, and golden hour sunlight on South Beach, Miami? This wonderful portrait photography session that I have been over-sharing for the last two weeks. Layla’s mom was visiting Miami from Michigan and wanted a birthday portrait session that truly embodied the spirit of Miami – the ocean.
Celebrating your little one’s first year is always such a meaningful and fun occasion and I was so honored to be able to capture some beautiful memories for her family.
In true Miami style, we had to start with a few portraits on South Beach beach at South Pointe Park. Tell me this girl isn’t absolutely adorable in her little bathing suit and mini sized chair!
After the bathing suit portraits we moved on to the main event- Birthday cake! At first Miss Layla was a little apprehensive but she quickly figured it out and was smashing away.
After Layla had enjoyed her time in the sand we moved on to the park and Layla finally got to smash her cake without the worry of sandy little fingers.
