I have to start this post by saying that I have been lucky enough to work with Mr. Ethan since he was a teeny, tiny, handsome, preemie and I can not believe that he is already one year old! This year passed so quickly for me – I can’t imagine how his lovely Mama feels.
This is Ethan as a tiny, 7 day old preemie.
Just look at how precious he was! Even though I may be a little biased since he is my cousin 😉 Being able to work with family and capture their timeless memories is such a blessing and also a challenge- you always want to go the extra mile for family.
For Ethan’s cake smash celebration we decided to keep it simple and we had the session right in his backyard. He loved his scrumptious homemade cake and his momma loved the ease of being able to walk her sticky baby right to the bath tub when we were all finished. With toddlers, easier is always better 😉

For a one year old – he is the best at giving serious faces! Serious portraits of children always resonate with me. There is so much to see in their eyes.

He wasn’t quite sure about the cake at first…. But once he figured it out he was ready to dive in!
